one year down...

only two more to go! last week I officially finished my first year at byu law school. I have to admit, it was never in my plans to attend byu law school, but with mark still being in school it was kind of my only choice, and i felt a little disappointed at first. as it turns out though, I have actually loved my experience at byu so far--I have met some amazing people and have really enjoyed my classes and professors and I realize now that, surprisingly, byu is really the perfect law school for me. so, aside from the last two weeks of finals where I have been on the verge of losing my sanity/suffering a nervous breakdown, my first year was actually quite enjoyable, and definitely not nearly as bad as all of the horror stories.

up next: once I pass my background check, I will be starting my first externship with the district attorneys office, which prosecutes crimes in the salt lake area (think law & order)... I am excited.

class of 2010

Is it totally hypocritical that I made Mark walk at his graduation when I didn't walk at mine? Perhaps. But we had a steak BBQ at our house with all of Mark's favorites so I think the food and all the family that came to town made him glad he did it in the end, it was so nice to have both families here to help celebrate. I am so proud of Mark and all of his accomplishments. He has now officially entered the realm of full-time salaried employment with a great job working at a commercial real estate firm in downtown Salt Lake which is a huge blessing that we are truly grateful for. So here's to one of us finally being done with school! At least for now...

visiting the grandparents

We have spent the last couple weekends with our grandparents and it has been so much fun. Two weeks ago we went down to Oak City to help Mark's grandpa with yard work-- his rose bushes are now officially ready for spring! He is such a sweet man, I always enjoy spending time with him. Then last weekend my mom and I went down to St. George to visit my grandma and grandpa who are serving a mission at the Church sites. We took all of their tours (which I would highly recommend), and stayed up late every night just talking. The older I get the more I realize how much I have to learn from my grandparents. They are the best.
